Crystal Coachman Caddis
Castlegar and area is known for the abundant caddis fly hatches. As the season progresses so does the size and colour of the caddis flies. The hatch changes every 1-2 weeks, and every corner, back eddy, and run can have a different caddis hatch in progress.
The Crystal Coachman Caddis is a dry fly attractor pattern. Although it is a dry fly, it is tied on a wet fly hook to prevent the hook from straightening out by the large Columbia River rainbow trout. This is a custom pattern created and tied by Rod Zvaduk to mimic a portion of the local caddis hatch.
