WeSportFish is a multi-community, multi-stakeholder initiative devoted to helping celebrate and protect recreational angling on the last free flowing section of the mighty Columbia River. We celebrate the health and abundance of the fishery through the eyes and stories of our anglers and guides, and we protect our river by uniting singular voices into a consortium with the ability to create awareness and to influence change. The name WeSportFish was chosen to symbolize formation of an alliance with a vested interest in the local sport fishing community.
Who Governs WeSportFish...
WeSportFish was envisioned by Community Futures of Greater Trail in late 2014 as a way to increase opportunities for waterway recreation. After four years of inter-community discussion with organizations, businesses, environmental protection persons, anglers, guides, and many others, WeSportFish.com officially launched in June of 2019.
At present, Community Futures is responsible for website administration, and enjoys the collaboration and continuous and steadfast support of Black Press Media staff and Business Reach Marketing & Social Media to keep WeSportFish.com content fresh. Additionally, WeSportFish receives support from the Trail & District Chamber of Commerce, Lone Sheep Publishing and the Lower Columbia Community Development Team Society.
