Columbia River Flyfishing specializes in fly fishing for hard fighting rainbow trout and caters to all skill levels. Often clientele are return ocean fishing customers that have never fly fished, so all equipment and coaching can be provided to get initiated in the sport and catch some fish. Even avid fly fishers often choose to use Columbia River Flyfishing’s gear over their own as they are top of the line setups that are already rigged for the mighty Columbia River.
A typical trip is 6-8 hours and usually begins around 9:00 or 10:00 am depending on the season and conditions. Clients may choose to meet at the Genelle, Trail, or other boat launch, or choose to be picked up at their hotel. The main vessels are 18-foot center console jet-boats with a quiet 80 horse outboard jet. Each boat can accommodate two fly fishers and the guide.
The great fishing spots are nearly everywhere, and all equipment is on-board so you will be fishing in minutes; all you need is your sunglasses and favorite fishing hat. Once you’ve fished an area the jet boat will zip you to the next hot spot. Columbia River Flyfishing also offers spey casting tours with competitive spey caster Bruce Kruk. Wade the riffles and runs with Bruce while you hone your skills with a world renown spey caster and instructor.
